Hope caring orphanage continues to serve and reach out to needy children in the communities and maneuver ways of giving them opportunities to improve their lives and align them to equal competitions for opportunities like other children.
The love of Yahweh has been tremendous in so many ways throughout the year.
2024 has been very challenging and struggling with lots of things.
To begin with, we started the nursery section where we serve babies and little did we know it was going to be overwhelming and requiring intensive investment in making sure proper care is achieved. Currently we have 12 babies from week old to a year old. It comes with intensive consumption of formula milk and frequent visits to the hospital.
Secondly we have to deal with effects of flooding and political instability. Flooding destroyed crops and killed thousands of animals. This has rendered food prices and availability very limited and skyrocketed prices. Political instability caused deaths that could be avoided and led to displacement of families and manufacturing companies clossing business and job losses. Thirdly school calendar was harshly effected and many kids missed school.
Here are the major challenges for the orphanage
- Food , high prices and scarcity for availability of food has remained a huge challenge,
- Sickness, we have a huge number of children being sick and admitted in the hospital and this has really affected our minimum operations budgets.
- School, school needs has been struggling and kids have missed out major exams and opportunities due to lack of school fees and necessary supplies,
- Water, the orphanage is believing Yahweh for a borehole. Water born diseases and infections has been increasing and struggling for clean water huge challenge,
5.infrustruture, there’s serious need to repair the orphanage roofs and walkway paths. There is need to install cctv cameras for surveillance purposes, - Enrolment, the waiting list is really overwhelming and full, due to limited resources we are unable to help more children. It’s my prayers for resources which will enable us help more kids,
- Disability, this year we have had a bigger Enrolment of kids with special needs and Yahweh has faithfully made it possible for them to be served well,
- Indiscipline, this year we have had to deal with higher number of Indiscipline cases ranging from drugs and social media related matters. This was possible due to the street children influence,
- Sporting events, our orphanage produced the best soccer players for the region and I appeal to well wishers to sponsor a sports academy fees for our endowed children,
- Registration, government has come up with stringent measures for renewal of registration and new fees for registration and I pray that our institution can afford the fees.
In conclusion, 2024 has been tough and full of challenges.
